US Lit II bookUS Lit II is the 11th grade English course. This course focuses on the study of American Literature. Literature study will include the full range of American fiction (short stories, novels, and drama), poetry and non-fiction. Attention will be given to important authors and literary movements. Also, the course will further develop and refine skills in sentence structure, English usage, mechanics, vocabulary, and paragraph and short-essay construction. Emphasis will be on strengthening the entire writing process to produce written essays of varied styles and types. This course will utilize a variety of instructional and learning methods and activities.

Course objectives are aligned with the state standards and benchmarks.
