What happens when a person is alone for long periods of time? Why do we seek out friends and companionship? Sometimes we desperately want to be alone, but being alone ALL the time could have unintended consequences. “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Raven,” and “Mariam” all deal with narrators struggling with being alone (for a little too long).
